An Act further to amend the Punjab Local Government

PUNJAB LOCAL GOVERNMENT
(AMENDMENT) ACT, 2020

No. PAP/Legis-2(51)/2020/2287.–The Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2020, having been passed by the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab on June 26, 2020, and assented to by the Governor of the Punjab on July 01, 2020, is hereby published as an Act of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab.
It is necessary further to amend the Punjab Local Government Act, 2019 (XIII of 2019) for the purpose hereinafter appearing:
Be it enacted by Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as follows:
1. Short title and commencement.–(1) This Act may be cited as the Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Act, 2020.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of Section 3 of Act XIII of 2019.–In the Punjab Local Government Act, 2019 (XIII of 2019), in Section 3, in sub-section (2), for the words “one year”, the words “twenty one months” shall be substituted.
3. Repeal.–The Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Ordinance 2020 (III of 2020) is hereby repealed.
