PUNJAB INFECTIOUS DISEASES (PREVENTION AND CONTROL) (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2021
An Act to amend the Punjab Infectious Diseases (Prevention and Control) Act, 2020.

No. PAP/Legis-2(75)/2020/2534.–The Punjab Infectious Diseases (Prevention and Control) (Amendment) 2020, having been passed by the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab on May 04, 2021, and assented to by the Governor of the Punjab on May 11, 2021, is hereby published as an Act of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab.
It is necessary to amend the Punjab Infectious Diseases (Prevention and Control) Act, 2020 (XIII of 2020) for its better implementation.
Be it enacted by Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as follows:
1. Short title and commencement.–(1) This Act may be cited as the |
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Insertion of Section 28-A in Act XIII of 2020.–In the Punjab Infectious Diseases (Prevention and Control) Act, 2020 (XIII of 2020), after Section 28, the following Section 28-A shall be inserted:
“28-A. Temporary regulations.–The Secretary may, by notification in the official Gazette, frame such temporary regulations to be observed by a person or a class of persons as may be necessary to prevent outbreak or spread of an infectious disease, and the Secretary may determine in what manner and by whom any expenses incurred due to such diseases shall be defrayed.”.
3. Repeal.–The Punjab Infectious Diseases (Prevention and Control) (Amendment) Ordinance 2020 (XII of 2020) is hereby repealed.
