An Act to amend the Fort Monroe Development
Authority Act, 2016

ACT XXXIII OF 2019
No. PAP/Legis-2(31)/2019/2174.–The Fort Monroe Development Authority (Amendment) Bill 2019, having been passed by the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab on November 25, 2019, and assented to by the Governor of the Punjab on December 10, 2019, is hereby published as an Act of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab.
It is necessary to amend the Fort Monroe Development Authority Act, 2016 (XXIII of 2016) to extend the jurisdiction of the Authority for overall development, construction, rehabilitation and renovation of Koh-e-Suleman, Tribal Area of DG Khan.
Be it enacted by Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as follows:
1. Short title and commencement.–(1) This Act may be cited as the Fort Monroe Development Authority (Amendment) Act, 2019.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment in Section 1 of Act XXIII of 2016.–In the Fort Monroe Development Authority Act, 2016 (XXIII of 2016), for brevity referred to as ‘the Act’, in Section 1:
(a) for sub-section (1), the following shall be substituted:
“(1) This Act may be cited as the Koh-e-Suleman Development Authority Act, 2016.”; and
(b) for sub-section (2), the following shall be substituted:
“(2) It shall extend to such areas of Koh-e-Suleman and Tribal Area of District Rajanpur, as the Government may, by notification in the official gazette, specify.”
3. Amendment in Section 2 of Act XXIII of 2016.–In the Act, in Section 2, for clause (c), the following shall be substituted:
“(c) “Authority” means the Koh-e-Suleman Development Authority established under the Act.”.
4. Amendment of Chapter II of Act XXIII of 2016.–In the Act:
(a) in the heading of Chapter II for the words “Fort Monroe”, the words “Koh-e-Suleman” shall be substituted;
(b) in Section 3, in sub-section (1), for the words “Fort Monroe”, the words “Koh-e-Suleman” shall be substituted; and
(c) in Section 3, in sub-section (11), the expression “Until the Authority establishes its headquarters at Fort Monroe,” shall be deleted.
5. Amendment in Section 11 of Act XXIII of 2016.–In the Act, in Section 11 in sub-sections (1) and (2), for the words “Fort Monroe”, the words “Koh-e-Suleman” shall be substituted.
6. Amendment in long title and preamble of Act XXIII of 2016.–In the Act in long title and preamble, for the words “Fort Monroe” the words “Koh-e-Suleman” shall be substituted.
