further to amend the High Court Judges (Travelling Allowance) Order, 1965
WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the High Court Judges (Travelling Allowance) Order, 1965, (P.O. No.4 of 1965), for the purposes hereinafter appearing.
AND WHEREAS paragraph 2 of the Fifth Schedule to the Constitution relating to the High Court provides that every Judge of a High Court shall be entitled to such privileges and allowances, and to such rights in respect of leave of absence and pension, as may be determined by the President.
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by the aforesaid paragraph, the President, is pleased to make the following Order, namely:—
1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Order may be called the High Court Judges (Travelling Allowance) (Amendment) Order, 2009.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of paragraph 11, P.O. No. 4 of 1965. In the said Order, in paragraph 11, in sub-paragraph (1):—
(a) for the words “one thousand” the words “two thousand” shall be substituted; and
(b) in the proviso, for the word “twelve” the words “twenty four” shall be substituted.
