An Act to repeal the

Nazaria-i-Pakistan Foundation Act, 1997 (XII of 1997).

 

      Whereas it is expedient to repeal the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Foundation Act, 1997 (XII of 1997) for the purposes hereinafter appearing;

      It is hereby enacted as follows:-

 

1.   Short title and commencement.– (1) This Act may be cited as the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Foundation (Repeal) Act 2008.

      (2)  It shall come into force at once.

 

2.   Repeal, revival and succession.– (1) The Nazaria-i-Pakistan Foundation Act, 1997 (XII of 1997) is hereby repealed.

      (2)  Notwithstanding the repeal of the Act XII of 1997–

                  “(a) the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust, registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 (XXI of 1860) which stood dissolved under section 13 of the Act, shall stand revived;

                  (b) the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust shall be governed under the provisions of the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (XXI of 1860);

                  (c) all rights, properties, assets or liabilities of the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Foundation shall stand transferred to the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust as its rights, properties, assets or liabilities; and

                  (d) an action taken, thing done, right acquired, liability imposed or any proceedings initiated under the Act shall not be affected.”

 

3.   Repeal.– The Nazaria-i-Pakistan Foundation (Repeal) Ordinance 2008 (VI of 2008) is hereby repealed.
