PREVENTION OF CORRUPTION (WEST PAKISTAN AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE, 1970

An Ordinance further to amend the Prevention of Corruption

Act, 1947, in its application to persons who belong to the Civil Services of the Province

of West Pakistan or hold civil posts connected with the affairs of the Province of West Pakistan

 

Preamble.— WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947 (Act II of 1947), in its application to persons who belong to the civil services of the Province of West Pakistan or hold civil posts connected with the affairs of the Province of West Pakistan;

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of the Martial Law Proclamation of 25th March, 1969, read with the Provisional Constitution Order, and in exercise of all powers enabling him in that behalf, the Governor of West Pakistan is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:-

 

1.         Short title and commencement.— (1) This Ordinance may be called the Prevention of Corruption (West Pakistan Amendment) Ordinance, 1970.

 

            (2)        It shall come into force at once.

 

2.         Amendment of section 5-A of Act II of 1947.— In section 5-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947 (II of 1947)—

 

      (a)  for the words “Deputy Superintendent”, the word “Inspector” shall be substituted, and

      (b)  the proviso shall be omitted.
