An Act to repeal the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Secretariat Services Act 2022 and revive the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Secretariat Services Act, 2019

No. PAP/Legis-3(98)/2022/22.–The Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Secretariat Services (Repeal and Revival) Bill 2022, originally passed by the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab on the 19th day of July 2022, was sent to the Governor of the Punjab for assent. The Governor neither assented nor returned the Bill. The Assembly again passed the Bill in its sitting held on the 31st day of July 2022 and sent to the Governor for assent on the 2nd day of August 2022. Since the Governor has not assented to the Bill within the stipulated period of ten days, the same is deemed to have been assented to in terms of clause (3) of Article 116 of the Constitution, and is published as an Act of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab.
WHEREAS, in the interest of Parliamentary Supremacy, it is expedient to revive the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Secretariat Services Act 2019, in the manner hereinafter appearing;
Be it enacted by the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as follows;
1. Short title and commencement.–(1) This Act may be called the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Secretariat Services (Repeal and Revival) Act, 2022.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Repeal of Act XI of 2022.–The Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Secretariat Services Act 2022 is hereby repealed.
3. Revival of Act IX of 2019.–The Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Secretariat Services Act 2019 is hereby revived with effect from 24th June, as if it had never been repealed.
