PUNJAB BOARDS OF INTERMEDIATE AND SECONDARY EDUCATION (AMENDMENT)

An Ordinance further to amend the Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act, 1976.
Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act, 1976 (XIII of 1976) for the purpose hereinafter appearing;
And whereas the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab is dissolved and the Governor is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action;
And whereas under Article 4 of the Provisional Constitution (Amendment) Order No.9 of 1999, as amended by the Chief Executive Order No. 11 of 2000, the Governor of a Province may issue and promulgate an Ordinance;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Governor of the Punjab is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Ordinance may be called the Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (Amendment) Ordinance, 2001.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment in section 5 of Act XIII of 1976.- In the said Act, in section 5 sub section (1) clause (iii) the words “Directors of Education” shall be substituted by the words and brackets “Executive District Officers (Education)”.
3. Amendment in section 10 of Act XIII of 1976.- In the said Act, in section 10 sub section (2) clause (iv) sub clause (b) the words “Director of Education” shall be substituted by the words and brackets “Executive District Officer (Education)”.
4. Amendment in the Schedule of Act XIII of 1976.- In the said Act, in the Schedule, in the First Regulations of the Board-
(i) in Regulation No. 5 clause (1) sub clause (iii) and in Regulation No. 6 clause (1) sub clause (ii) after the word “amongst” the words “Directors of Education” shall be substituted by the words and brackets “Executive District Officers (Education)”; and
(ii) in Regulation No. 5 clause (1) sub clause (iii), Regulation No. 6 clause (1) sub clause (ii), Regulation No. 7 clause (1) sub clause (iii) and Regulation No. 10 clauses (1) and (2) the words “Director of Education” shall be substituted by the words and brackets “Executive District Officer (Education)”.
