How can a victim seek protection under the Domestic violence under this act?

 An aggrieved person or the person on the victim’s behalf may file petition before the hon’ble court under section 7 of this act within the jurisdiction;

        i.            The aggrieved person resides or carries on business.

      ii.            The last place where the respondent and aggrieved person last resided together.

The court shall fix the first date of hearing after the filing of the petition, which shall not exceed seven days from the date of the receipt of the petition by the court, with or without interim order the court shall issue notices to the person against whom the complain has been filed to show cause within seven days that why a protection order shall not be made against him. The petition shall be disposed off within a period of ninety days and any adjournment given during the hearing of the petition shall be granted for reasons to be recorded in writing by the Court.
