The Supreme Court Judges (Leave, Pension and Privileges) (Amendment) Order, 1996

PRESIDENT ORDER NO. 4 OF 1996

AN

ORDER

WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Supreme Court Judges (Leave, Pension and Privileges) Order, 1968 (P.O. No. 1 of 1968), for the purposes hereinafter appearing;

AND WHEREAS paragraph 2 of the Fifth Schedule to the Constitution relating to the Supreme Court provides that every Judge of the Supreme Court shall be entitled to such privileges and allowances, and to such rights in respect of leave of absence and pension, as may be determined by the President;

NOW, THEREFORE in exercise of the powers conferred by the aforesaid paragraph, the President is pleased to make the following Order, namely:---

1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Order may be called the Supreme Court Judges (Leave, Pension and Privileges) (Amendment) Order, 1996.

(2) It shall come into force at once and shall be deemed to have taken effect on the first day of December, 1996.

2. Amendment of P.O. No. 1 of 1968. In the Supreme Court Judge (Leave, Pension and Privileges) Order, 1968 (P.O. No. 1 of 1968), paragraph 22A, A sub-paragraph (2) for words “nine thousands rupees”, the words “thirteen thousand five hundred rupees” shall be substituted.
