Why is the communication of acceptance necessary to convert an offer into a binding promise?

A. As per Section 4 of the Contract Act 1872, an offer seeking a promise in return is only transformed into a promise when the acceptance is effectively communicated to the proposer. The act of acceptance is a continuous process, becoming binding on the acceptor only when it comes to the knowledge of the proposer. This ensures that both parties are aware of and agree to the terms, thereby creating a mutual obligation.
