Can a bidder at an auction sale withdraw their offer before it is accepted?

A. As per Section 5 of the Contract Act 1872, a bidder at an auction sale can withdraw their offer before it is accepted by the fall of the hammer. If the auction sale is subject to confirmation by a particular authority, the bidder can withdraw their offer before such confirmation, even if the bid has been provisionally accepted.
