MOTOR VEHICLES (VALIDATION OF FEES)

ORDINANCE, 1965

(XVIII OF 1965)

Whereas it is expedient to validate the fees charged, collected or realized by the Regional Transport Authority, Karachi:

And whereas the Provincial Assembly of West Pakistan is not in session and the Governor of West Pakistan is satisfied that circumstances exist which render immediate legislation necessary:

Now, therefore in exercise of the powers conferred on him by clause (1) of Art. 79 of the constitution, the Governor of West Pakistan is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:-

  1.         Short title and commencement: (1) This Ordinance may be called the Motor Vehicles (Validation of Fees) Ordinance, 1965.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

  1. Validation of fees realized, collected, etc; from the 25th May, 1962 to 12th March, 1965: Notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the time being in force, the fees charged, collected or realized by the Regional Transport Authority, Karachi (Constituted under Section 44 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1939), on and from the 25th May, 1962 to 12th March, 1965 at the rates prescribed under the Sind Motor Vehicles, 1940, as applicable in the Divisions of Hyderabad and Khairpur, shall be deemed to have been validly charged, collected or realized, as the case may be.
